It is now the day before we depart for Japan, and our climb up Mount Fuji, so now is probably a good time to start to think about training....Or is it too late?
We have come up with a specially designed McKeegan Training Programme which has been indepth and stuck to strictly. In order to ensure we are at our peak of physical fitness we undertook the following training programme:
Running - Good for Cardiovascular and Legs - 2-3 times a week (Mike and Tim)
Cycling - Good for Cardiovascular and legs - not so often per week (Mike and Tim)
Long Walks - Good overall training (Mike)
Karting - Highly important for Hand and eye coordination and Stamina (Mike and Tim)
Pool - (Very useful for concentration and accuracy (Tim)
Triathlons - Because you get a medal at the end (Tim)
But there had to be the ultimate training goal, and that was to Climb Mount Snow via the Watkins Path, and a made up bit, and I am pleased to say that this goal was successfuly acheived!! So now we feel we are ready to take on the Volcanic Mount Fuji in Japan.
